Tower of London and The Dorchester wedding photography | Katie & Chris
I was recommended to Katie & Chris by one of Katie’s bridesmaids, who’d been a bridesmaid at another wedding I’d previously shot. While the prospect of capturing two of London’s most iconic venues was already exciting, I was even more thrilled when I met Katie and Chris. They are an utterly kind, lovely couple, and working with them was an absolute joy.
The bridal preparation at The Dorchester
The day began at The Dorchester, capturing the quiet excitement of the bridal preparations. Katie and her bridal party gathered in a stunning suite, and there was a lovely relaxed energy in those pre-ceremony hours.
Wedding ceremony at The Tower of London
After the preparations, we headed to the historic Tower of London. It was a spectacular, sunny afternoon, and the grounds were bustling with tourists. Unsurprisingly, they were very excited to see all the activity around the closed-off chapel! There was an electric, celebratory atmosphere in the air when Katie and her father pulled up, stepping out of a classic Rolls-Royce Phantom to the cheers of onlookers.
The ceremony took place inside the Chapels Royal, a space steeped in history and atmospheric charm. To respect the privacy of the chapel, the ceremony images remain private, but it was a true honor to document such an intimate and beautiful exchange of vows.
After the ceremony, and with the Tower gates closed to the public, we had the rare privilege of exploring the quiet chapel grounds. Blessed with a gorgeous, warm golden hour, we captured some wonderfully relaxed, natural portraits of Katie and Chris in the magic of their first moments as newlyweds!
Sumptuous wedding reception at The Dorchester
The celebration then moved back to Mayfair for a spectacular reception in the Orchid Room at The Dorchester. The room was the epitome of elegance, providing a magnificent backdrop for the evening.
It was great fun photographing the guests during the wedding breakfast, and the reactions during the brilliant speeches. The absolute highlight of the night, however, had to be the cake cutting. It’s not every day the groom draws a sword to cut the wedding cake!
